And we have so many pictures to show for it!! We had a wonderful, fun and exciting visit from Devon and Steve in July! We did all sorts of fun stuff during their visit. We went in to Austin and watched the millions of bats come out to look for their food. We toobed the Comal river and had a hot dog picnic after working up an appetite going through the tube shoot a couple times! We went to Port A and played along the beach and in the water. Our Devon found the kids some live sand dollars and some friendly hermit crabs...we cooked out, shopped the awesome outlets in San Marcos, ate yummy Texas bbq and Mexican food all in 10 days! We all missed them so so much when they left! Those boys sure know how to have fun! It was a great visit and we only wished we lived closer!!
The kids and I also took a quick trip up to Houston to visit a friend of mine that I knew in VA...she moved to Houston and we moved here...except now she is trying to move back!! :( We had a lot of fun with the kids at the pool and at G Force and even more fun at night when the kids went to bed and the big kids had peach bellinis...if only I had not fallen asleep shortly after...ha ha! It was great fun visiting Jackie, Gordon, Caroline and Cooper! Thanks for being such great hosts!!
Went back to Austin - this time for some yummy cupcakes from Hey, Cupcake and squeezed in a trip to Whole Foods! Talk about a great day!! The kids loved eating the cupcakes whipper snapper style - with a shot of fresh whipped cream squeezed right into the middle of the cupcake!!! yes, PLEASE! :)
On the agenda for August:
Logan starts camp Minihauaha next week and will be swimming, paddle boat riding, playing mini golf, playing on the new playground and having more fun than one 6 year old can handle while Declan and Ty and I use up our Schlitterbahn passes to the MAX! Only 2 1/2 more weeks until school starts! YIPPEE!
I also got a job teaching preschool to 3 year olds on Mon-Tues-Wed so we will be very very busy!! Lots of fun things to look forward to!! And we found a great grourmet neighborhood chef who is very yummy and affordable and we are so fortunate that he cooks 4 times a week! The kids love "that mans food!" So do we!!
ohhh - One more thing...Logan learned how to completely tie her shoes on her own this evening! So proud of her! Yah, Logan!! And she is enjoying basketball camp this week (even though she told me she wouldn't) and has her first scrimage tomorrow evening...exciting!!
